Daniel Rupp’s book is a collection of upwards of thirty thousand names of German, Swiss, Dutch, French and other immigrants in Pennsylvania from 1727 to 1776 with a statement of the names of ships, whence they sailed, and the date of their arrival at Philadelphia, chronologically arranged, together with the necessary historical and other notes, also, an appendix containing lists of more than one thousand German and French names in New York prior to 1712.

In our example we will serach for the last name Moser within the text version of the book

Step 2 – Open up serach function: Once the book is open hold down Ctrl key and press F key which will bring up the serach screen.
Step 3 – Enter your search name: In step 2 you will see a box in the upper left corner of the web-page with Find:_______. This is where we will enter the last name Moser for our sample search.
The results of step 3 found the first occurrence of the word Moser from Martin Moser. In addition to Martin Moser there are 10 other occurrences of the word Moser. We know this because the right hand side of the screen shows the word Moser was found 11 times in this books. To continue searching for other folks named Moser you would click on the Next button.
Our Martin Moser was found on page 57 of the original book. We determined that Martin Moser was on page 57 because just below his name we can see that the next section of the text version begins on page 58.
